Are you looking to book a flight to a national park, ski location, or beach destination with a specific budget in mind, but aren’t sure where you want to go?
Chicago-based United Airlines just launched an interactive map search tool that allows customers to view all of their potential travel destinations in one place, the airline announced on Wednesday. The carrier says it is the first U.S. airline to launch an interactive map feature powered by Google Flight Search Enterprise Technology, and it was developed in direct response to customer feedback.
Travelers can use the tool to compare and shop for United flights based on departure city, budget, and location type, and fares are displayed in a map view so customers can compare several destinations in a single search.
Customers can choose from specific or flexible dates, nonstop flights, and one-way or round-trip options. Destinations can then be filtered by interest in the following categories: beaches, beer and breweries, culture, food and drink, hiking, national parks, outdoors, romantic, skiing and snowboarding, and snorkeling and scuba.
“We’ve reinvented the way people search for flights and introduced something new for our customers that is simpler, provides better results and is easy to use,” said Linda Jojo, executive vice president for technology and chief digital officer, in a statement. “Leveraging the power of Google’s Flight Search technology, we are able to provide an all-in-one solution that streamlines the search process and allows our customers to more easily find the flights that work best for them.”

Earlier this month, United introduced a Destination Travel Guide, an interactive online map that allows users to filter and view coronavirus pandemic travel restrictions for each U.S. state.
